Since
our founding in 1982 we have manufactured and shipped several hundred
thousand custom photo puzzles. Until July of 1999 each puzzle was
created by custom enlarging copy negatives, 35mm color negatives
or from full size prints provided by customers. We are pleased to
now offer customers worldwide the advantages of puzzles via electronic
imaging. Purchases of E-mail puzzles are safe and secure with American Express, MasterCard and Visa through Verisign's payflow processing.

ATTACHMENTS FOR ELECTRONIC PHOTO PUZZLES
Scans of your hard copy photo & uploaded files direct from your digital cameras are popular E-mail attachments sent for custom photo puzzle production. We request compressed JPEG files. The JPEGs take up less disk space, they transfer quicker as attachments & they capture full color information. Please scan your originals as close as possible to the dimensions of your selected puzzle style. Please limit your E-mail file size to 5MB. If you need to send a larger file size, please mail it on a CD or zip disk formatted for PC to our address listed above.
PDI/PPI RESOLUTION FOR PUZZLES
Printing example of an 8"xl0" puzzle, Multiply 8" x 300 to get a Digital photo of 2400 and 10" x 300 to get 3000. Your Digital File will need to have a pixel resolution of 2400 x 3000 to print an 8"x10" with a print resolution of 300dpi. Remember although 300 DPI/PPI is universally accepted as generating photo quality, some printers will work very well at lower DPI/PPI.
YOUR PUZZLE PRINT
We use only the finest ink jet printers combined with top of the line "double" weight high gloss photo quality ink jet paper. The print is machine glued to 80 point (1/8") puzzle chipboard. Volume orders from one electronic image are produced from our copy negative on Kodak Professional, Supra Eudora high gloss photo paper.
CROPPING
Photos do not always have the proportions that enlarge to our puzzle formats. We'll crop as needed and notify you if we can't make a high quality puzzle from your print or electronic image.
DIGITAL CAMERA FILES FOR PHOTO PUZZLES
 Send only images taken at the highest resolution your camera can provide.
More pixels will create sharper photo quality & print reproducing. JPEG files are recommended. After a photo is taken you will lose image quality if you try to resize, or make changes in size or content.
8" x 10'' puzzles 2.9 - 3.9 megapixel cameras
11" x 14" puzzles 4.5 - 5.5 megapixel cameras
15" x 20" puzzles 5.5 & up megapixel cameras
SCANS (FLATBED) FOR PHOTO PUZZLES
 The general standard for high quality print production is that you'll need a final image resolution of 300 DPI. NOTE, many files scanned at or near the puzzle size ordered will print very well in the 200 & up DPI range. Remember as you scan a small print the DPI will drop when the image is enlarged.
Example, scan a typical 4" x 6" print at 300 DPI would create an 8" x 13" image with only 150 DPI. Scan the image at 600 & you'll have a higher DPI resolution of 300 for the 8" x 12" photo. Some software programs allow you to enter the print resolution & size for your scan.
